ACES brings together Macquarie University's considerable capacity in education, teacher preparation, teacher professional learning and educational leadership across the span from early childhood to higher education. It continues the existing strengths of the,

• Institute of Early Childhood
  The Institute of Early Childhood is Australia's oldest teacher education institution and the leader nationally in early childhood;
  
  
• Macquarie University Special Education Centre
  The Macquarie University Special Education Centre is a national leader in the education of children with special needs, particularly in the area of literacy;
  
  
• School of Education
  The School of Education, Macquarie's oldest School, since its inception has led the way in primary, secondary and post-secondary teacher preparation;
  
  
• Macquarie ICT Innovations Centre
  The recently established Macquarie ICT Innovations Centre is a partnership between the NSW Department of Education and Training and the University, with the Division of Information and Communication Sciences, focused on technology-enhanced teaching and learning;
