Selected Projects
The Impact of Web-Based Lecture Technologies on the Current and Future Practice in Learning and Teaching - a Carrick Project
This project is a collaboration between four IRUA universities - Macquarie University, Murdoch University, Flinders University and the University of Newcastle. It is funded by the Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, an initiative of the Australian Government Department of Education, Science and Training. The impetus for the project arose from a need to develop an understanding of the implications of the use of web-based lecture technologies such as iLecture for the design and delivery of curricula, good teaching and high quality learning in higher education. Leadership & Assessment: Strengthening the Nexus - a Carrick Project
Assessment and feedback are key components of curriculum throughout the Higher Education sector playing a critical role in shaping the quality of student learning. While there are many examples of good assessment practice within tertiary institutions, many of these are at an individual academic or unit level. In this project, Macquarie University intends to develop ‘assessment leaders’ who will promote and support the strategic and systematic development of assessment and feedback throughout the institution.
