Study Options

The postgraduate program of IHERD offers coursework and research courses to students wishing to study higher education and/or higher education development. The program is offered in a fully external mode, making it accessible to students nationally and internationally. The awards comprise:

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education
  • Master of Higher Education
  • Doctor of Education
  • Doctor of Philosophy

The program is fully articulated, so that with satisfactory performance students may progress from the Postgraduate Certificate to the Postgraduate Diploma, Masters, and Doctoral programs. Areas of specialisation are:

  • learning and teaching (including postgraduate research supervision)
  • e-learning
  • leadership, management and administration
  • medical education (Masters level only)
