Program Delivery Requirements

As this program is intended for higher education professionals locally, nationally, and internationally, all course units have been designed for external and flexible delivery. Each unit requires participants to:

  • engage in individual reading;
  • engage in critical reflection upon their own and others' professional practices;
  • contribute to the development of their own and others' understandings of the course unit's key constructs by regularly participating in, and making contributions to, online learning activities and discussions;
  • have regular and reliable access to the internet, as all learning and teaching activities are supported by an online unit. For further information on specific requirements, see the Macquarie University Online Teaching Facility site at: http://online.mq.edu.au

Each unit also offers approximately 24 hours of optional on-campus seminar work that will provide students with opportunities to further explore the issues raised in the unit in a face-to-face environment. Participation in these seminars is strictly voluntary and, as such:

  • no new material is presented during these sessions
  • assessment strategies used in each unit are independent of them.

International students residing and studying in Australia are required to attend all on-campus sessions, as a requirement of their student visas.
